| Reconstruction
of the route
Gletsch - Oberwald Further required financial means
CHF 3,000,000
The final part of the route to be taken into operation
again is the route from Gletsch to Oberwald with a length of approx. 5 km. In
addition to the complete reconstruction of the track the helical tunnel and the
viaducts must be redeveloped. The reconstrucion of the entry distance of the
railway station Oberwald will also require a lot technical expenditure.

| Expansion
of the engine
shed / workshops Realp Further required financial means
CHF 1,700,000
Intact engines
and passenger cars is the precondition for a smooth and safe railway
operation. The keep up as well as extensive renovating works therefore must be
possible all over the year, both in summer and in winter. The present space for
the today´s number of traction vehicles is not sufficient. This leads to
unwelcome delays. Furthermore the maintenance of the snow removers must be done
outside under hash weather conditions. So an expansion of the existing depot is
absolutely urgently required.

| Steam lokomotives Further required financial means
CHF 1,900,000
In order to attain more rides from Realp to
Oberwald more traction vehicles are necessary. With two "Vietnam veterans” HG
4/4 parked in the workshops in Chur which are to be reconstructed the
number of locomotives increases to ten. Thus the complete series of nostalgic
locomotives(HG 2/3, HG 3/4, HG 4/4) can be used on the Furka railway route to the great
pleasure of many enthusiastic railway fans.

Extensive works at the steam engines are
necessary to enable today´s operation. (e.g. inspection of the steam boiler). For
the maintenance and revision works both financial means and voluntary work are
required.
| Infrastructure Gletsch Further required financial means
CHF 370,000
Gletsch will be our second base during summer
after the completion of Oberwald. The existing locomotive shed must be
structurally adapted and the infrastructure must be amplified accordingly.
Although at present there exists no definite
concept for the use of our “Blaues Haus”, renovation works have to be done in
order to protect it from further damages caused by the weather. Additionally
this house is to be renovated for our voluntary workers including the
improvement of the present sanitary conditions.
| Current renewal of the route
Further required financial means CHF 600,000
The keep up of the railway
embankment and
the renewing of worn out rails and steering racks has always been and will
always be a precondition for accident-free rides.

Construction of the railway station Realp The
project is completed
The “container village” around the railway
station Realp did not seem to be very attractive for our passengers. In 2005
the Albert-Koechlin-Foundation´s financial contribution, Luzern, (CHF 50,000)
made it possible to lay the foundation-stone for a new, attractive railway
station. Additonally to the ticket office and waiting room for our passengers,
the souvenir shop, the control room as well as the office of the controller were
integrated. The sanitary facilities were improved to meet today´s requirements.
The
station was opened officially in the context of the special days
on June 23rd and 24th, 2007.
